Red Dragon Forest Rally - 20 May 2006 - Driver - Gavin Spencer - Vauxhall Nova

The fifth round of the BTRDA XSpec 1400 championship and our third event selected saw us finish a lowly sixth in class following an excursion off the road which damaged the gear selector.  The event started really well with us setting some credible times and getting back to our speed and performance from the previous events.  

Unfortunately a large flooded section of track was our downfall and the volume of water in the flood pulled us off into a rocky bank....once again very disappointing but with the next event only three weeks away and relativley local too us...I cant wait! Our championship class hopes are still alive..!

Killarney Rally of the Lakes - 28 April 2006 - Driver - Phil Morton - Datsun Coupe

Following our success on the Killarney Historic Rally last December, Phil was inspired to return to the fabulous southern ireland tarmac stages, including the famous Molls Gap.

After an excellent recce over the full two days which gave us chance to tune our notes we passed through scrutineering with no major issues and headed for the test stage.  Several good runs through this saw us really fired up for the two days of competition to follow.

Saturday dawned cool and dry.  Molls Gap was the first stage of the event and we set off at a cracking pace unfortunately we felt the car lose power,  and pulled over to find the engine had gone bang.  Totally gutted we hoped to have it repaired for the sunday run but it was not too be. Only my second retirement in three years so not too bad!!  Will just have to go back for the Historic again in December for the craic!

Malcolm Wilson Rally 11 March 2006 - Driver Gavin Spencer, Vauxhall Nova

he English Lake district is home to the Malcolm Wilson Rally.  It uses some of the classic stages including Comb, Wythop and Grizedale.

For 2006 the event was to run extra mileage and use Greystoke forest near Penrith.  We were seeded Car 19 (219) and thought it could prove useful should the forecast snow arrive. After the start proper was in Cockermouth high street after a short run from the M Sport presmises in Dovenby Hall there followed 9 stages

A good run apart from losing our exhaust on a rough section in Grizedale gave us second in class and 7th 1400 crew (our best result yet in BTRDA) and leaves Gavin and I second in the B8 Class of the Xspec 1400 Championship.

Wyedean Rally 11 Febraury 2006 - Driver Gavin Spencer, Vauxhall Nova

The first round of the BTRDA Championship for 2006 based in the forest of dean near Chepstow had us tackle 9 stages including two a the racecourse itself.  We suffered a few problems with the new gearbox in the Nova but a steady run gave us second place in the Championship B8 class and 16th 1400.

Riponian Stages Rally 5 Feb 2006 - Driver Gavin Spencer, Vauxhall Nova

Good steady run over the 14 stages - used the event as a test in anticipation of the Wyedean next weekend...No major dramas with driver getting used to new Dog gearbox.  Had good battle with Alan Richardson "sooty" from Malton and ended up 25th Overall and 3rd in class
